Apparently coffee grounds in normal soil can also help with the acidity of the soil. A cap of vinegar may also help reduce the alkaline tap water too. Use Peat based potting soil.
Best blooming temperature conditions are between 21 to 18 degrees daytime, and 16 to 18 at night. Non blooming temperatures can be slightly higher.
Make sure it's properly humid!

So Penelope has dropped some buds because I was dumb and bad :<
BUT on the flip side, she has quite a few more but much smaller buds that have survived. Maybe a later summer bloom? maybe she'll have a sudden growth spurt? I just want a bloom, dammit ;_;

Disaster mode! I was at my parent's this week to babysit our dog and I forgot to water Penelope one day late! I gave her an emergency soak but... I think it's too late. She's mad at me.
I think these buds yellowing at the base are signs that it's not happy and she's aborting her flowers. Some have survived! Maybe just one mini bloom would be nice but I think Penelope is officially angry at me lol.... 😅😂😭

I must've fertilizer burned Penelope. :(
I was too eager to let her bloom, but I gave her too much too soon, so a lot of her leaves are dying. I hope I didn't actually kill her...
I've since flooded her pot and tried to flush out any leftover fertilizer in her pot, but so far it doesn't look good. Let's hope she recovers.....

I moved Penelope to the windowsill now that it's less sunny. Fertilized her a tiny bit over the weekend. COME ON AND BLOOM JFC.
